Blog 5 - Mentorship Reflection

1. Describe your experience in how you found your mentorship?

I found Vivian by simply asking my mom for help. After searching online, calling many people, and not getting many call backs, I got frustrated and asked for help. My mom works with a couple psychologists, and I had many choices. I called Vivian and picked a time and date to meet. Mostly, we sit and talk about my topic, sort of similar to an interview.

2. What has been your most important article you have read so far and why?

The most important article I have read is called "Walking a Tightrope: Family Therapy with Adolescents and Their Families" by Kenneth V. Hardy. I found this article most important because it gave me a very good example of a family that went to a therapist. It gave me an insight to what Hardy, their therapist, was thinking at the time, and solutions he took to help them and help them communicate in a healthier way.
