Preparation

For my independent component, I wanted to find a second mentor closer to home since my other mentor, Vivian, lives in Los Angeles. I called my old daycare center, Wescove Daycare, and spoke to the main boss, Rita. We have stayed in touch for years after I left the daycare. She told me to call her boss, to do a background check. In order to volunteer and mentor at the daycare center, I have to do a background check and fingerprint scan for the City of West Covina. I am still in the process of the background check and I should start my other mentorship next week.
